Membership Criteria
The National Closet Group (NCG) is a collaboration of dynamic, innovative, and growth minded companies that are all independently owned and have agreed to the NCG code of ethics. The success of the organization is dependent upon the activity and participation of the members. All potential members are subject to NCG board approval prior to being accepted into membership. To be eligible for membership a company must meet the following criteria and agree to the group’s participation requirements:
Membership Criteria:
- Company must be an independently owned business that is not affiliated with any franchise.
- Company must have a minimum of 5 years industry related experience. **
- Company must have annual sales in excess of $500,000 in the custom home organization niche. ** This niche includes closets, garage cabinetry, and space enhancing custom home furniture. This niche does not include kitchen and bath cabinetry.
- Company is spending a minimum of 5% of gross revenues on advertising and showroom expenses.
- Company has shown a record of growth over the most recent three year period.
- Company does not have a permanent presence or advertise within a radius not less than 50-miles of the nearest member. A second member can be considered for membership in Metropolitan areas with a population greater than 10 million.
Member Participation Requirements:
- The Member must attend or send a representative to each semi-annual meeting.
- The Member acknowledges that the NCG is a member driven organization and agrees to actively contribute to the success of the group. Active members can expect to sit on a committee and dedicate a minimum of 25 hours of their time annually.
- The Member and is fully committed to the goals and purpose of the group.
- The Member is subject to annual review by the NCG Board.
** denotes membership criteria that could be waived with NCG board approval. |
